The Orchard Suite – Hotel Kilkenny

The challenge of this small project was to create an entrance to the Orchard Suite in Hotel Kilkenny from the car park which would give it its own identity for weddings and functions. We also wanted to create a link from the Orchard Suite to the garden and at the same time create a covered outdoor area which would be protected from the elements.

This was achieved with a light weight perspex structure with one single central column which also acts as the rain water outlet. This created a focus on the entrance door to the Orchard Suite function room and with timber cladding to the walls created an extremely strong focal point. Under this large canopy it allowed us to furnish this area with outdoor lounge chairs and coffee tables. This has now instantly become a unique selling point for this area of the hotel and is a great link between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
